Joy
1st
John 1: 4
And these things write we unto you that your joy might be full.
According to
Webster’s dictionary, joy is a very glad feeling; it also notes that joy pertains
to the cause of the glad feeling or happiness.
When Jesus is
the cause of your joy, no one or no circumstance can take that joy away from you
because He is constant. What you see and read of Him in His word is what He is.
The more you develop your relationship with Him through the study of His word,
the more joy will remain in you and the more fullness of joy you will
experience. In other words, your joy will be complete.
John
15: 11 (Jesus is speaking)
These things have I spoken unto you that your joy might
remain in you and that your joy might be full.
Happiness
According to
Webster’s dictionary, happiness is the enjoyment of pleasure without pain;
good luck; good fortune.
In other words, happiness is conditional. When there is no pain there is enjoyment of pleasure but when the pain comes, the enjoyment of pleasure is gone. When your luck is good, happiness is present but when your luck changes and things aren’t going well, the happiness is gone. When you are experiencing good fortune, happiness is there but the minute things change and the fortune isn’t so good anymore, the happiness disappears.
Observation
As your
circumstances change your happiness is affected either for the better or for the
worse. With Jesus in your life, circumstances do not have an impact on your joy
because with Him your joy remains and your joy is complete.
If you have not
yet accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, why not accept Him
right now.
A Prayer to Receive Salvation
Dear God, I
confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died for my
sins. I ask Your forgiveness of my sins and accept Your Son into my life as my
personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and
because of this; I know that I can live a victorious new life in Christ. Thank
You for my salvation.
Now
complete the process of salvation by being baptized.
Acts
2: 38
..Repent and be baptized … in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of
your sins….
