Love Not The World

1st John 2: 15 -17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world the love of the Father is not in Him.

Once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have to move away from the lifestyle that you used to live according to the standards of the world to the lifestyle that is according to the standard of God, as outlined in His word. In other words your mind has to be transformed from who you used to be to who you now are in God, through your relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.

Romans 12: 2

And be ye not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Your Desire

If your desire is for the things of the world and not the things of God, you don’t have a relationship with Him because you cannot love both God and the world at the same time. You will either hate the things of the world and love God or hate the things of God and love the things of the world: but you cannot love them both at the same time.

Matthew 6: 24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

James 4: 4
…know ye no that the friendship of the world is enmity with God. Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Lust

1st John 2: 16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes
and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.

According to Webster’s dictionary, lust is an overmastering desire. In other words, you are controlled by the thing you desire instead of you having control over your desire for the thing.

No one on this earth can have everything or everyone that they desire because sometimes what you desire belongs to someone else. Unfortunately, some people are unable to control their desires and will stop at nothing to get what they want. This is what is called lust. This is not a part of the lifestyle of God: this is a part of the lifestyle of the world of the devil. He lusted after the things of God; was thrown out of heaven – because God and evil, light and darkness, cannot survive in the same place and now he is trying to convince us to follow after him. (See Isaiah 14: 12- 15)

The Will Of God

Only the people who do the will of God, as He has outlined in His Word will live with Him forever.

1st John 2: 17
And the world passeth away and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the
will of God abideth forever.

The door to an eternity with God is through a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ. If you have not yet accepted Him as your personal Lord and Saviour, why not make Him your choice right now? Allow Him to open the door and give you entrance into the world of a whole new life in Christ.

2nd Corinthians 5: 17
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.

Observation

So many of us have our own ideas of God and His requirements for a right relationship with Him, but there is only one road map that leads to God and that is His Word – the Holy Bible. If you are living your life according to any teaching other than what is written in the word of God, you are not in a right relationship with Him.

2nd Timothy 2: 15
In all you do, study to shew yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

A Prayer to Receive Salvation

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died for my sins. I ask Your forgiveness of my sins and accept Your Son into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and because of this; I know that I can live a victorious new life in Christ. Thank You for my salvation.

Now complete the process of salvation by being baptized.

Acts 2: 38
..Repent and be baptized … in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins….
