The
reason John wrote this letter to the believers
1st
John 2: 21
I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know
it, and that no lie is of the truth.
Who
is a liar?
Anyone who
denies that Jesus is the Christ is a liar.
1st John 2: 22a
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?
Who
is antichrist?
Anyone who
denies the Father and the Son and anyone who denies that Jesus Christ came in
the flesh is antichrist.
1st
John 2: 22b
He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son.
2nd
John 1: 8
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ
is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Who
doesn’t have the Father?
Anyone who
denies the Son doesn’t have the Father.
1st
John 2: 23a
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father.
Who
has the Father
Anyone who
acknowledges the Son has the Father. This acknowledgement is not just saying
with your mouth that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, but believing it in your heart
and living your life according to that belief.

John 2: 23b
But he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
The
relationship between Jesus Christ and God His Father
Jesus Christ
and God are one and His desire is for
all believers to experience this same unity that is shared by Him and God, His
Father.
St.
John 17: 20 -22 (Jesus is praying to God on behalf
of all believers)
Neither pray I for these alone but for them also which
shall believe on Me through their word;
(verse 20)
That
they all may be one as Thou, Father,
art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one
in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me.
And
the glory which thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one even as We are one.
Observation
Jesus Christ
and God His Father are one; therefore how you respond to one is how you respond
to the other. You cannot believe in God the Father without believing in Jesus
Christ, His Son and you cannot deny The Son without denying the Father.
Understand who you are in God through your relationship with His Son Jesus Christ, by studying the word of God, so that you can show yourself approved unto Him; a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed because you rightly divide His word of truth. (2nd Timothy 2: 15 paraphrased).
