Those who are antichrist and liars

1^st John 2: 26
These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

John has taken the time to identify the teachers and the teachings of those who desire to lead us contrary to the teachings of God, as it is written in His word. They are referred to as antichrist because they deny the Father and the Son and they do not believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh.  

1^st John 2: 22b
He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son.

2^nd John 7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

They are also called liars because they deny that Jesus is the Christ.

1^st John 2: 22a
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? 

Seducers

In verse 26 the word seduce means to be led astray or contrary to the teachings of God, as it is written in His word.

If you do not study the word of God, you will not know the truth that leads to a right relationship with Him and you will not be able to accurately share the truth about Him with others.  Not only that, you have placed yourself in a position to be misled or seduced by false teachings which could affect your eternal destination. For this reason, it is of the utmost importance that you are obedient to the instruction given by the apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy.

2^nd Timothy 2: 15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Just as people become physically malnourished and die from lack of natural foods, if you don’t establish a well balanced diet of feasting on the word of God, you will become spiritually malnourished and die from lack of spiritual food.

Observation

When you know the truth, you can identify the lie. When you don’t know the truth, you have set yourself up for the biggest deception ever. The sad thing about it is that by the time some people realize that they have been deceived, it will be too late and their eternal destination would have already been sealed.  If you are reading this, it is not too late for you.

If you have already accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have already made the most important decision that you will ever make in your life. Now grow in your relationship with God through daily study of His word.

A Prayer to Receive Salvation

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died for my sins. I ask Your forgiveness of my sins and accept Your Son into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and because of this; I know that I can live a victorious new life in Christ. This I ask in the name of Jesus. Thank You for my salvation.

Now complete the process of salvation by being baptized.

Acts 2: 38
..Repent and be baptized … in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins….
