1st John 2: 5
But whosoever keepeth His (God’s) word, in Him verily is the love of God perfected; hereby we know that we are in Him.

Who Loves God and Who is Loved by God

St. John 14: 21 (Jesus is speaking)
He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him and will manifest (make Myself known) to him.

The people who love God are not the people who go to church every time the door is opened but the one’s who study His word and live according to the truth of His word.

When you show Jesus that you love Him by studying His word and living your life in accordance to the truth of His word, you will in turn be loved by God and Jesus will make Himself known to you.

When we live our lives according to the word of God, the love of God in us becomes evident to us and to the people that we come in contact with.  The evidence of this love lets us know that we are indeed in a right relationship with God.

1st John 2: 6
He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself to walk even as He walked.

If you say that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, your lifestyle should show it. The only way this will happen is if you study the word of God daily and allow it to transform you through the renewing of your mind.

Romans 12: 2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Observation

Who loves God? It is not the one who attends worship services every time the door is opened. It is not the one who enjoys the music the most. It is not the one who is busy with the business affairs of the church.  It is not the one who gives the most money. It is the one who keeps the commandments of God.
