Learning to Understand God

1st John 3: 19
And hereby we know that we are of the truth and shall assure our hearts before Him.

We know that we have a right relationship with God and are walking according to His truth when we love others - not by our words but by our actions. 1st John 3: 18 clearly tells us that we are not to love in word or tongue but in deed or truth.

When we love others according to God’s definition of love, our conscience witnesses to the sincerity of our actions and lets us know that we are in right standing with God.

1st John 3: 20
For if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things.

If we are not sincere in our actions of love towards others, our hearts or our conscience will let us know of the wrong we are doing.  No one else may know but you will know. Not only will you know, but God who sees all and knows all, will also know.

Observation

True love is a love that is expressed, not just in words but also in actions. If you say you love God, let your actions display your love so that someone who does not yet know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour may recognize His love for them in you and give their lives to Him.

A Prayer to Receive Salvation

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died for my sins. I ask Your forgiveness of my sins and accept Your Son into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and because of this, I know that I can live a victorious new life in Christ. Thank You for my salvation.

Now complete the process of salvation by being baptized.

Acts 2: 38
...
Repent and be baptized … in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins….
