Learning to Understand God

1st John 3:1a
Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:

Who are the sons (children) of God?

Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.

Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

How do we know that we are the sons (children) of God?

Romans 8:16
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

There is a blessing for being a son (child) of God.

Romans 8:17
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Galatians 4:7
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ

(Being a child of God means that we are joint–heirs with Christ in His suffering and in all the blessings God, our Father, has given unto Him. This lets us know that we will experience times of suffering, as well as times of blessings and in the midst of the suffering and blessings, the power of God will sustain us.)

Why the people of the world (people who are not saved) do not understand Christians.

The people who are not saved do not understand Christians because they do not know Christ.

1st John 3:1b
Therefore the world knoweth us not because it knew Him not.

The people who have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour do not have a personal relationship with Him; as a result, they cannot understand those who have. Just as light and darkness operate outside of each other and can never be together, so it is with the saved and the unsaved –they are from two different worlds. The saved will understand the unsaved because they came out of the world but the unsaved cannot understand the saved because they have yet to become a part of their world.

Where do you fit?

Are you a child of God or are you a child of the world?

Observation

We are all in this world together. We may not all leave it at the same time but whether we like it or not, one day, leave it we will. Why?

Every one who is born into this world is destined to leave it by death and face the judgment of God

Hebrews 9: 27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

The question is, "Where will you spend eternity"?

If you are not yet a child of God, why not become His child today?

A Prayer to Receive Salvation

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that your Son Jesus Christ died for my sins. I ask your forgiveness of my sins and accept your Son into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that you raised Him from the dead and because of this; I know that I can live a victorious new life in Christ. Thank You for my salvation. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Now complete the process of salvation by being baptized.

Acts 2: 38
..Repent and be baptized … in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins….
