Learning to Understand God

1^st John 4:12
No man hath seen God at anytime. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us and His love is perfected in us. 

Even though no one has ever seen God, we can know that God is living in us by the way we show love for each other.

How We Know That We Are In God And God Is In Us

1^st John 4:13
Hereby we know that we dwell in Him and He in us because He hath given us of His Spirit.

The Importance Of Having The Spirit Of Christ

Romans 8:9b
Now if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

 The Spirit of Christ refers to the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost.

How Do We Receive The Spirit Of Christ?

Acts 2:38
Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 

You can only receive the Spirit of Christ (Holy Ghost) through repentance, confession and baptism.

Why God Sent Jesus Into The World

1^st John 4: 14
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

In Whom Does God Dwell?

1^st John 4: 15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in Him and he in God.

Confession here does not refer only to speaking words with your mouth. It is also refers to confession in terms of a lifestyle that exhibits the teachings of Christ as outlined in the word of God – the Holy Bible.

Observation

Talk is cheap. Many people profess to be Christians but their actions and their words don’t line up. You can claim that God is dwelling in you but in Matthew 12: 33, Jesus said that the tree is known by his fruit. In other words, your actions and your attitudes give the true picture of who you really are and to whom you truly belong.

Galatians 5: 19 -21

These verses lists the fruit or works of the flesh and Verses 22-23 lists the fruit of the Spirit. Check them out so that you can identify the fruit you are bearing and make certain that they are fruit that will cause you to inherit the kingdom of God.    

A Prayer to Receive Salvation

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died for my sins. I ask Your forgiveness of my sins and accept Your Son into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and because of this, I know that I can live a victorious new life in Christ. Thank You for my salvation.

Now complete the process of salvation by being baptized.

Repent and be baptized … in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins….
