Jesus’
instruction to John
John was to write the things which he saw, the things which
are and the things which shall be in a book and send it to
the seven churches in Asia – Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum,
Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea (1:19)
Things
Which He Saw
ARE
The Things Which Are
John
saw seven golden lampstands
(1:12)
In
the middle of the lamptands one like a son of man clothed in a robe
reaching to the feet, and girded across His breast with a golden
girdle. (1:13)
His
head and His hair were like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were
like a flame of fire (1:14)
His
feet were like burnished bronze and his voice was like the sound of many
waters. (1:15)
In
His right hand He held seven stars; and out of His mouth came a
two-edged sword (1:16)
His
face was like the sun shining in its strength (1:16)
Things
Which shall Take Place After These Things
(Begins at Chapter 4)

The Book of Life
Then Moses returned to the
Lord, and said, “Alas, this people has committed a great sin, and they
have made a god of gold for themselves. But now, if Thou wilt, forgive
their sin – and if not, please blot me out from Thy book which Thou
hast written!” Ex. 32:31-32
Behold
I (Jesus) have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you.
Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to
you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven. Luke 10:19-20
Tree
of Life
And out of the ground the Lord God
caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for
food; the tree of life also is in the midst of the garden (of Eden), and
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Gen. 2:9
Then the Lord God said,
“Behold, the man has become like one of Us knowing good and evil; and
now, lest he stretch forth his hand, and take also from the tree of
life, and eat and live forever” Gen. 3: 22
