Before discussing the things which must be hereafter, I felt it necessary to share a teaching on the Gospel of the Kingdom, as outlined by God in His word.

The Gospel of the Kingdom Pt. 1

The Gospel of the Kingdom refers to the time when the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever. (Revelation 11:15)

We get a clear understanding of the establishment of world kingdoms leading up to the establishment of the final kingdom – the Kingdom of God – from Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the great image (statue).

Nebuchadnezzar’s Great Image
(Daniel 2)

Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, had a dream that affected him greatly, but he could not remember what his dream was about. Unfortunately for his magicians and prophets, they couldn’t tell him what he dreamed about either, so he sent out a message that they were all to be killed. Among those to be killed was a prophet of God by the name of Daniel, along with his three friends.

When Daniel got the news, he didn’t get all upset and hysterical. He maintained his composure; thought before he spoke; then questioned the bearer of the bad news about the purpose of the order to kill the magicians and prophets.  He was told about the king’s forgotten dream and immediately went to see him. At this point, he offered no opinion about the forgotten dream, but stated that if he was given more time, he would explain the dream to the king. Daniel’s request was granted. He immediately went home, explained everything to his friends and they prayed unto God for mercy and help for Daniel in understanding the king’s dream. As Daniel slept, God revealed the dream and its meaning to him. Here is the meaning of the dream.

Points to Ponder

Christ will rule over all Kingdoms on earth.
(Revelation 11:15)

Followers of Christ will reign as priest and kings on earth.
(Rev. 5:10)

The twelve apostles will judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
(Matt. 19:23)

The New Jerusalem

According to the word of God, The New Jerusalem will be coming down out of heaven. The exact location of this city was not given.
Revelation 21:1-3 (NIV)

1) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

2) I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold all things are become new.

The Dream

Nebuchadnezzar dreamt about a very large image (statue). This statue had a head of gold; breast and arms of silver; belly and thighs of brass; legs of iron and feet part of iron and part of clay. This statue represented the kingdoms of this world that would exist, prior to the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom on earth.

Interpretation of the Dream

The head of gold represented Babylon, which was the kingdom that Nebuchadnezzar ruled. The breast and arms of silver represented Medo – Persia under the rule of Darius the Mede and Cyrus of Persia. The belly and thighs of brass represented Greece and was ruled by Alexander the Great. The legs of iron represented Rome and the toes of iron and clay represented the divided nation of Europe.

Nebuchadnezzar saw a stone cut out without hands which struck the feet of the statue and broke them into pieces. When this happened, the entire statue broke into pieces and became like chaff and disappeared into thin air. The stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Each kingdom grew weaker and weaker, as represented by the various strengths of the materials seen in Nebuchadnezzar’s great statue. This continued until the statue was finally destroyed by the stone that was cut out without hands – the stone which became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.  This mountain represents the everlasting kingdom of God. This everlasting kingdom of God is called The New Jerusalem.

A Prayer To Receive Salvation

Dear God.
I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ your Son died for my sins. I ask you to forgive my sins and I accept your Son into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe you raised Him from the dead and because of that, I know I can live a victorious new life in Christ. Thank you for my salvation, in Jesus' name I pray. Amen

Acts 2:38
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, .....
