CHAPTER 13

Part One

THE ANTICHRIST AND
THE FALSE PROPHET

1) And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. And I saw a beast coming up of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his head were blasphemous names.

   And satan stood amongst the people. And I saw the antichrist coming from among the people having the complete support of the ten kings. He was open in his stand against the authority of God.

2) And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne of authority.

This beast is a combination of the four beasts that Daniel saw in his vision

2,3) Daniel had a vision in which he saw four beasts coming up out of the sea - each one different from the other.

4)   The fist beast was like a lion and had the wings of an eagle. Its wings were plucked and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man. It was also given a human mind.

5) The second beast was like a bear. It was raised up on one side and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth. It was told to “arise, devour much meat.”
(Medo –Persian Empire 539 BC)

6) The third beast was like a leopard. It had four wings like a bird on its back. It also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. (Grecian Empire 331 BC)

7) The fourth beast was dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong and had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet. It was different from all the other beasts that were before it and it had ten horns (ten kings)

8) While Daniel was contemplating the horns, another little one came up among them and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it. This little horn had eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth speaking boastful words.

17) These great beasts which are four in number, are four kings who will arise from the earth.

19) Daniel wanted to know the exact meaning of the fourth beast

23) The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and it will devour the whole earth and tread it down and crush it.

(All of the other kingdoms are political kingdoms but this kingdom is a religious/political kingdom)

Points to Ponder

If you are not worshipping God - you are worshipping Satan.

Unless otherwise indicated,

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold all things are become new.

24) The ten horns represent ten kings that will come out of this kingdom. Another king will also come out of this kingdom. He will be different from the other kings and will also destroy three of the kings. This king will be the Antichrist)

25) This king will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One. His intentions will be to make changes in times and in law. He will actually have control of them for time, times and a half time

The Antichrist is so powerful that he will make changes in times and laws.

3) And I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast.

The Antichrist will be fatally wounded – he will die. His fatal wound will be healed and he will live again. The whole earth will be amazed and will follow

after him

4) And they worshipped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast saying, “Who is like the beast and who will war with him?”

The people worshipped satan because he gave his power to the Antichrist and they worshipped the Antichrist by saying, “Who is like the Antichrist and who has the power to fight against him?”

5) And there was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies; and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him

The Antichrist is very boastful and speaks out against the authority of God. He had the authority to rule for 3 ½ years.

6) And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.

The Antichrist continually spoke out against the authority of God, His name and His tabernacle.

7) And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them; and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.

The Antichrist was given permission to persecute the saints (Christians) and to overcome them. He was also given every tribe, tongue and nation.

8) And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

Everyone on the earth whose name has not been written in the Lamb’s book of life (who are not saved) will worship the Antichrist.

9) If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
